Daredevil: Vampires Could Be Born Again's Biggest Issue?

Many viewers were stunned when the Marvel TV series on Netflix abruptly came to an end. Many Marvel fans were devastated when the TV series for characters like Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) abruptly ended. Fans of the popular television program Daredevil, who had just finished Season 3 of the program, however, were the ones who took the news the hardest.

Marvel has decided to revive the franchise and pick up where they left off as they approach Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with many of the actors returning in their previous roles. However, this might also conflict with the upcoming Phase 5 film Blade, whose eponymous role will be filled by a cast member from a Netflix-Marvel TV series.

How Daredevil: Born Again Is A Big Problem Because Of Blade

The sequel to the well-liked Netflix series that aired from 2015 to 2018 before being abruptly canceled is titled Daredevil: Born Again. As part of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel is bringing a new program centered around the blind superhero to Disney+ in 2024 now that they have once again acquired the screen rights to the IP. Blade is another IP that will see a new life in Phase 5, and Mahershala Ali will portray the renowned Day Walker in it. Given that Ali previously appeared on the Marvel-Netflix series Luke Cage, which takes place in the same universe as Daredevil, this might cause some people problems. Ali played Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes on the Netflix series Luke Cage.

Many of the ensemble members from the Marvel segment on Netflix are expected to return. Vincent D'Onofrio will once more play the Kingpin, Bernthal will once more play the recognizable Punisher character, and Charlie Cox will once more play the title role as Daredevil. Although Ali won't be playing the same part in the show again, it will be interesting to see him in Blade as the title character given that the actor is indirectly associated with the Daredevil universe.

The Multiverse Can Resolve The Issue (And Make More)

It would be very simple to simply deny the existence of the Netflix show's differences from the new Daredevil program. And even though that might be the case given that it's a part of the MCU, there will still be a clear connection between the two due to the abundance of recognizable parts being played again. Since actors like Cox and Fisk are returning, it would be difficult to differentiate it from its predecessor without a significant character like Jessica Jones being played by a different actress.

Another possibility is for Marvel to keep Cottonmouth and Blade a secret, never refer to them, and pretend they aren't both played by the same actor. The occurrence of a performer portraying multiple Marvel characters is not new. Other examples include Chris Evans, who portrayed both Captain America and Johnny Storm, and Josh Brolin, who played both Thanos and Cable.
